For.ge

The information agency “For.ge” was registered in the public registry on October 18, 2010, under the name of “NNLE Union Press-Georgia.” Its founders are Rozeta Jgamaia, Giorgi Iakobashvili, and Besarion Gabunia.

According to the registry of non-entrepreneurial legal entities, the founders of For.ge, Giorgi Iakobashvili, and Rozeta Jgamaia, along with Ia Metreveli and Ioseb Manjavidze, are members of the board of the organization “Davasrulot” [Let’s end it]. The organization was created to oppose the “United National Movement,” which was formerly in the government and is currently in the opposition. Rozeta Jgamaia holds the position of Director at the same organization.

According to the 2019 report of the Media Development Foundation, For.ge, as well as Facebook pages and groups related to it, as well as the organization “Davasrulot”, are behind an organized discrediting campaign directed against the opposition and non-governmental organizations. The same is confirmed by the 2020 social media monitoring report by the International Society for Fair Elections And Democracy (ISFED).

Notably, For.ge pursues a pro-government editorial policy and, along with other publications, has been involved in a number of discrediting campaigns against the former US ambassador in Georgia, Kelly Degnan. 

According to reports published by the Media Development Foundation, budgetary organizations have been signing contracts with For.ge for years now.

Budgetary organizations have been signing contracts with For.ge for the purpose of disseminating information for years now. In 2022, contracts worth 12,396 GEL were signed with For.ge. In a number of cases, in addition to posting the information on the website, the contracts provided for sharing the information on Facebook groups and pages related to For.ge (For.ge, Yellow Faqts, Tbilisi news,  თავისუფლება (Freedom), პოეზია (Poetry), Front news)

For.ge is distinguished by its pro-government editorial policy and is often involved in the coordinated dissemination of pro-government narratives, including against Salome Zourabichvili, former US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, former President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Former State Inspector, Londa Toloraia, Khazaradze-Japaridze, the conference "Glory to Ukraine", as well as in the discrediting campaigns against opponents of the draft law on the “transparency of foreign influence”. In 2022, For.ge shared, in a coordinated manner, government expert Goga Khaindrava’s Twitter posts along with other media outlets. Notably, For.ge presented the interview of the Georgian troll Nikoloz Ghlonti as a genuine source.

"Myth Detector" has repeatedly exposed disinformation and manipulative claims spread by For.ge, among them false information related to the coronavirus pandemic.
