Sezoni TV LLC was registered on March 16, 2021, received a broadcasting license on April 22, and began broadcasting on June 15. The owner and the director of Sezoni TV is Giorgi Kandelaki, an individual entrepreneur. 

Giorgi Kandelaki, the owner and director of the broadcaster, is a former boxer.  In addition to the TV channel, he also owns several businesses. Additionally, Kandelaki is a member of the Professional Boxing Association of Georgia, the President of the Boxing Union, and the General Director of the Union of Gorelians. He has a special affinity for Stalin, confirmed by the fact that Kandelaki was a member of the society “Goreli”, which repeatedly appealed to the Gori City Council with the initiative to restore the Stalin monument in Gori. He is also a member of the movement “Together for a Strong Georgia,” known for its open Soviet sentiments and support for Joseph Stalin. Kandelaki himself has been advocating for the return of Stalin’s monument for many years, even participating in several protests for this purpose, including in cooperation with the Communist Party of Georgia.

Giorgi Kandelaki donated 60 000 GEL to the United National Movement in 2012, and in 2018, 100 000 GEL to the independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili.

According to the 2022 data from the Communications Commission, the broadcaster was almost entirely dependent on the owner’s donation. The income of Sezoni TV in all four quarters of 2022 amounted to 42 016 GEL, with 41 416 GEL being a donation from the owner of the broadcaster, and 600 GEL coming from political advertising. Compared to 2021, this income has increased by 36 216 GEL.

Since April 28, 2022, the program on the channel has been hosted by Nikoloz Mzhavanadze, head of the “Union of Rights Defenders”, who was previously the host of the pro-Kremlin “Alt-info” and “Obieqtivi”. He is also the General Director of the “Taonews” news agency. Mzhavanadze and his TV shows are distinguished by a pro-Kremlin editorial policy and the extensive use of hate speech. According to the fact-checking portal “Myth Detector,” he often spreads disinformation about Russian intervention in Ukraine, domestic political issues, and the pandemic.
