“E.R.I. Media” LLC was registered on October 28, 2022. Initially, the owner of the LLC was Levan Vasadze, the leader of a radical-extremist movement. Currently, the owner of the TV broadcaster is his relative, Irine Mujiri. On October 28, 2022, ERI Media received general broadcasting license.
Levan Vasadze has close ties with Russia and the Russian Church. On May 6, 2021, he established a public movement called “Unity, Essence, Hope” and announced that the movement would transform into a political party.
Vasadze was one of the organizers of the violent demonstration against “Tbilisi Pride.” In addition, he is the representative of the Cristian-Evangelical organization, the World Congress of Families (WCF), in Georgia, which opposes LGBT rights on the premise of defending the “natural family”. The World Congress of Families has ties with the Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, who is under U.S and European Union sanctions for the events in Crimea, also to Alexey Komov, the official representative of the World Congress of Families in Russia, who has close ties with the leader of Eurasianist Movement, Aleksandr Dugin. Levan Vasadze himself has close ties with Dugin.
Irine Mujiri, the current owner of the TV broadcaster, in addition to ERI Media, owns and is a director of LLC Komodusi. Tinatin Khorbaladze, the General Director of the TV broadcaster is also the Director of the NNLE World Congress of Families.
“ERI Media” is of a donatory nature, as its only practical source of income is the owner’s donations.
Update [January 18, 2024]: As of January 18, 2024, the informational-analytical portal of the Communications Commission, which publishes data as demanded by the Georgian law, stated that in the first quarter of 2023, two individuals - Irine Mujiri and Irma Loria, donated money to “ERI Media”. The General Director of “ERI Media” contacted the Media Development Foundation, who explained in writing that the statistical forms submitted to the commission in 2023 contained a mechanical error: in particular, in the section of the donation of the owner of the broadcaster, Irma Loria was indicated instead of Irine Mujiri
According to the letter of “ERI Media”, they contacted the Communications Commission, which corrected the error. Notably, the original version on the website of the Communications Commission indicated both Irma Loria and Irine Mujiri as donors, as seen in the screenshot and on the archived link.
Update [January 24, 2024]: The Media Development Foundation (MDF) has appealed to the Communications Regulatory Commission for further explanations. On January 24, the Commission confirmed in the letter sent to the MDF, that “ERI Media” incorrectly filled in the information on revenues demanded by law. According to the letter, this error was subsequently corrected on the Communication Commission’s analytical portal after receiving the notification.
The letter, signed by a member of the Commission, Vakhtang Abashidze, indicates: “In accordance with the Georgian Law on Broadcasting, Broadcasters are obliged to submit information about their revenue sources to the Communications Commission, which is then published on the analytical portal by Communications Commission. We confirm, that based on the explanation provided by “ERI Media Group”, the information submitted by them contained errors, which have since been corrected. The updated and corrected data is now available on the Communications Commision’s analytical portal.”

Anti-Western and Homophobic messages, as well as Hate Speech, have been voiced on the air of “ERI Media” a number of times. The fact-checking portal “Myth Detector” revealed a number of instances of disinformation spread by Levan Vasadze on ERI media regarding Ukraine, NATO expansion, and Russia’s intervention in Ukraine in 2014. Notably, the 2023 report by the Media Development Foundation “Anti-gender and Anti-LGBTQ Mobilization in Georgia” revealed several instances of sexist hate speech voiced by ERI media.
