Dro

Dro TV, which is registered under the name of Quality Channel, was founded in 2013. Presently, the TV channel is owned by Giorgi Asatiani (45%), Kartlos Asatiani (14%), Edisher Giorgobiani (6%)  and Malkhaz Gulashvili (35%). The latter, who is one of the founders of People’s Orthodox Christian Movement, received 25% of shares as a gift from Avtandil Sologashvili in 2014.

Malkhaz Gulashvili’s name is associated with the incident that occurred during live televised debates in Kavkasia TV’s studio in 2010. Members of the People’s Orthodox Christian Movement expressed protest against the book “Saidumlo Siroba” (most widespread translation "Holy Crap") by Erekle Deisadze. The debates grew into a physical confrontation between opponents. Police detained some members of the movement; Malkhaz Gulashvili, who was also involved in the incident, had to flee to Russia via breakaway South Ossetia. In 2011, he was arrested on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border and charged in connection with the incident and illegal border crossing. A year later he was released from jail early.

The TV channel Dro broadcasts in HD and it is transmitted through both the cable network and satellite.
